What is Port Merge?

Port Merge, powered by Foxtrot is a combination of Foxtrot- data scripting technology, expert-like database programs, and consulting services that offer a comprehensive, safe portfolio merge solution.

Port Merge includes a PC-based database application that sorts and analyzes the client's portfolio data. By applying technology and business rules developed in EnableSoft's and inBusiness Services' bank merger practice, Port Merge identifies and tags CIF records as likely merge candidates and groups each set of merge record candidates identifying the probability that a merge operation is appropriate. For example, records with identical name, address, SSN, and phone numbers will be grouped as "EXACT MATCHES" while records that are exact matches after applying equivalencies from the Port Merge knowledge base will be in a "LIKELY MATCH" group.

Once the Port Merge has completed this process, you review the merge recommendations. A user-friendly Windows application allows for swift review of merge candidates. Since all pertinent portfolio information is available for viewing on a single screen, it is a simple matter to analyze and make merge/no merge decisions and re-assign the lead record if appropriate. You may merge the "EXACT MATCHES" en masse and only review "LIKELY" matches if you wish; significantly reducing the time required for the review step.

Port Merge provides the scripts that merge the data real time / online using the host system screens and functions just as it would be accomplished manually. The Port Merge Scripts process only records specified for merging in the previous steps. All of the customer and address records are added to the surviving portfolio (if they are not already there) and the accounts are then pointed to the lead or surviving port. If no addenda remain and the "merged" portfolio can be deleted, it is. Since the scripting process uses actual host application screens to affect the merge of customer records, all of the normal host edit checks remain in place, providing an extra level of security to the process.

Transaction Rates

Portfolio merge rates of up to 6 to 12 merges per minute can be expected depending on host response time. Port Merge keeps you informed of the number of records being processed per minute and the number of records remaining. You can also control the start and stop record numbers in the database. Additionally a grid can be turned on which allows you to view the database information. Port Merge can be run minimized in the background allowing the PC workstation to be productive on other tasks at the same time. Reports can be generated that document the entire process.

Requirements

Port Merge, powered by Foxtrot requires a minimum of a Pentium-166 Mhz personal computer with Windows 9x, 16 MB of memory (32 MB recommended) and at least 20 MB of free hard disk space (50 MB recommended). If you are running Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000, 32 MB of memory is required (64 MB recommended). Foxtrot -- Data Scripting Technology and a Foxtrot-supported emulator such as Rumba, Netsoft/Netmanage, or Attachmate must be in place.
